The capping head is a compact group, wholly made from stainless steel AISI 304/316, which can be installed on the capping machine.
The spindle diameter and the locking ring are made to suit normal standards: however, it is possible to ask for special attachments if required. To decrease machine setup times, an optional quick release attachment designed by us is also available.
According to the type of cap to be applied on the finish of the container, the dimensions of some parts may change, in order to cover the whole production of caps from 18mm to 38mm diameter.
The capping head is mounted at the end of a vertical shaft which at its lower end carries the cap pressing device (pressure block). This can be provided with the NO-CAP NO-ROLL device that blocks threading if there is no cap.
On the vertical shaft there is the cross device on which the four roller holder arms, for the threading and tuck-under operations, are pivoted.
Each roller holder arm is balanced in the central position by two springs and has at one end a small cam follower. This, under the push of a cone-shaped cam, transfers the load through the arm to the threading and tuck-under rollers.
The threading and tuck-under pressures are adjustable by operating, through threaded grains, on the load of the springs placed at the end of the roller holder arms. On the lower side of the capping head a cap centering device is fixed by means of four small columns. To reduce to the minimum the maintenance operations, the spindle is mounted on bearings.
